The Hamburger DOM is one of Germany's largest and oldest funfairs, offering rides, games, food, and entertainment. Held three times a year in Hamburg, it’s a must-visit attraction for both locals and tourists. The Hamburger DOM dates back to the 11th century when traders and entertainers gathered at Mariendom, the now-demolished cathedral in Hamburg. Spring DOM: Typically held from late March to late April. Summer DOM: Usually runs from late July to late August. Winter DOM: Takes place from early November to early December.

Explore the Port of Hamburg (HafenCity)

Known as the "Gateway to the World," Hamburg's port is one of the largest and busiest in Europe, with a history dating back to 1189. Visit the Elbphilharmonie concert hall's viewing platform for panoramic views of the city and the harbor. You can also explore the port and its surroundings on a guided boat tour. Prices range from €26 to €40 per person.

A UNESCO World Heritage site, the Speicherstadt is the world's largest warehouse district, built between 1883 and 1927. It is the largest warehouse district in the world where the buildings stand on timber-pile foundations. It is a beautiful place for a walk. In this area, you can also visit the Hamburg Dungeon, which is an interactive attraction that combines live actors, special effects, and rides to bring Hamburg’s dark history to life. Tickets are around €28 per person, and have to be bought online.

Admire the St. Michael's Church (Michel)

One of Hamburg’s most famous landmarks, this Baroque-style church dates back to the 17th century. Enjoy panoramic views of the city from the church tower, and/or see the exhibitions in the crypt. A combo ticket for both costs €10. The church also often hosts classical music concerts.

Known as Hamburg’s one of two entertainment districts, the Reeperbahn is famous for its nightlife, theaters, bars, and clubs, and also the city's major red-light district. Explore the numerous bars, clubs, and live music venues. Entry fees vary, but many clubs charge between €10 and €20. St. Pauli Theater is one of the oldest theaters in Hamburg, offering a range of performances. Ticket prices range from €20 to €50, depending on the show.

A beautiful park in the heart of Hamburg, known for its botanical gardens, lakes, and fountains. It features the largest Japanese garden in Europe, perfect for a peaceful stroll. Free light and water shows are held in the park during the summer months. Entry to the park is free.

The International Maritime Museum is a treasure trove of maritime history, showcasing a vast collection of artifacts, model ships, paintings, and documents that highlight humanity’s connection to the sea. The museum is based on the private collection of Professor Peter Tamm, who started collecting maritime artifacts as a child. The museum journey begins with the evolution of ships, from early boats to modern vessels. Highlights include ancient boat models, Viking ships, and historical naval vessels. Regular tickets cost €17 and students pay €12.
